UPDATE 10th June 2011

Donations will still be made on this web site, but more information about events, gig tickets and news etc can be found on the new web link above.

On the 29 January 2009 Jasmine Phillips was stillborn at 32 weeks old. We were in the central delivery suite at Derriford hospital in a side room, surrounded by new born baby's and expectant mums.  We cant change our loss, but we can improve facilities for other parents and families who sadly loose their Angel Babies with this appeal.

We're working with Derriford Hospital to raise £100,000 for a Specialist Unit / Area within the main hospital building, but away from the normal delivery suites for those parents who may have to sadly experience the same losses as we did. Having a dedicated Area / Unit away from the busy Maternity Wards will help to improve the quality of care received, the experience and more importantly the memories that parents and familes take away with them, without the ordeal of being on a busy maternity delivery ward.

29TH OCTOBER 2010

We are planning a summer ball / gig for next year. So far we have two bands willing to play; Joker and Six Shooter which will be great. We are waiting to hear back from Joey the lips who may also be able to play.

We would like to organise an event that parents and kids can come in the day for face painting, magic shows and jugglers etc and then in the evening have the bands playing for the adults who can relax and have a beer or glass of wine....

If you have a venue you know about, or are able to suggest, please let me know so we can gt things organised, You can contact me by email on popeye1@blueyonder.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

With love and best wishes,

Greg & Jen, Jasmine's mum & dad xxx

UPDATE 24TH OCTOBER 2010

Another fantastic day of support at the Haldon Hill boot sale today. Thank you for all your dontations, buying from us and also to those who gave us items again to sell at the next one. Today we raised another £51.57 towards the appeal. We really appreciate all your support.

Next year we are hoping to have a charity ball, or gig and we are just begining to organise the event. We would like to have a family day during the day for the kids with bouncy castles, jugglers and local craft stalls, then in the evening a band or maybe two for the adults. If you think you can help us, please contact us on the email address above.

With love and thanks, Greg & Jen, Jasmine's mum and dad xx

UPDATE 17TH OCTOBER 2010

A big thank you to all those of you who supported and donated to the Snowdrop Appeal at the Haldon Hill Car Boot Sale this weekend. Also a big thank you to those of you that donated items that we could raise money with by selling them at the next Car Boot Sale, all your support is so gratefully recieved.

In total, we raised another £35.27 to the Appeal on the day with the prospect of raising so much more at the next Car Boot sale.

UPDATE 28TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Jason & his cousin Jamie successfully bowled non stop for 12 hours at the AMF Ten Pin Bowling Centre, Torquay on 18th September.

It was a long hard day but we have managed to raise £465.58 for the appeal. We still have some sponsors to collect before we can get the exact total.

A big thank you to all that helped, sponsored us, bought raffle tickets, offered help with other events and also to Jill AMF manager for giving us two lanes free to bowl on for the day.

Also a big thank you to Plymouth Radio & the Evening Herald for helping to raise the profile.

 UPDATE 16th SEPTEMBER 2010

We have had the Evening Herald this evening take pictures and speak to us about our fund raising events for the hospital. There will be an artical in the Evening Herald Friday 17th September 2010 on page 3. A big thank you to the staff at the Herald for their support in helping us raise the profile of the appeal.

UPDATE 2nd August 2010

Jason Hellier and Jamie Coles are doing a 12 hour sponsor bowling event to raise funds for the Jasmine Phillips Snow-Drop Appeal for a Specialist Unit at Derriford Hospital for bereaved parents of stillbirth babies.

UPDATE 9th June 2010

On Monday we met with the ward manager of the central delivery suite. As a result we have raised to the challenge of something a little more ambitious.

We need to raise £100,000 for a Specialist Unit / Area within the main hospital building for those parents who may sadley have to experience the loss we did.

Having a dedicated area / unit will improve the quality of care recieved, the experience and more importantly the memories that they take away with them.

Its a huge challenge and will take some time, but we hope with your support we can take little steps towards achieving our goal.

Please spread the word of our appeal to family, friends, and anyone you know.

We will keep you upto date as things develop, but anything you can do now to help is so much appreciated.

Love & best wishes,

Greg, Jen & baby Jas 9th June 2010

Previous messages

Our aim in setting up this appeal is to raise money in memory of Jasmine to purchase equipment and items for the room to make it a little less clinical and more welcoming for other parents who have to go through the same experience at such tragic times.

We want to raise funds for a new digital camera so the midwives can offer parents some personal photo’s of their baby and much more, such as a more comfortable bed should the father or family member stay overnight.

We will be meeting the ward managers in the near future to ask what they feel would be helpful to make the room a more comforting place to be in such times when you forget everything and are overwhelmed by grief.

We will be updating this page regularly and hope you are able to donate something no matter how much or little towards our cause.

With love,

Greg & Jen, Jasmine’s mum & dad

11 May 2010
