Story
It happened that I spent most of my childhood in different hospitals, long and miserable weeks in pain and almost no food, no distraction, no toys. Not the best pastime for a 5-year-old kid who dreamed of exploring the world beyond the hospital walls, climbing trees, fighting knights, and ruling her own kingdom within 2 residential blocks. I was the most annoying and unstoppable kid in that area at the time, all the boys were afraid to say 'no' to me and immediately agreed to any of my ideas to go on another adventure.
That is why I decided to fundraise for Evelina London Children's Charity because it is a chance for me to help other kids that are stuck in the hospital, as I was in my childhood.
Every year more than 103,000 children and young people experience the wonderful warmth of Evelina London, which is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
They see first-hand the care and passion of the Evelina London team who are exploring new approaches and creating ground-breaking care for children and young people.
To give you an idea of the impact of your donation:
- £10 could help put a child's mind at ease with imaginative toys, books, and games that explain what happens in the hospital
- £100 could help the team put together amazing rucksacks full of distraction toys for every ward and department
- £350 could buy even more DVD players with headphones and give every child the chance to escape into their favorite film
We all dream to change the world around us, making it a better place to live, building something amazing, or at least becoming the best version of ourselves. And I can help you
By donating just £2, you can rock the moment:
- help children and their families
- make a lasting difference
- transform a boring Monday into Happy Monday!
- and, eventually, change yourself.
The greatest strength is hidden in small tiny steps. For one person this may seem like nothing, but the accumulation of it becomes a big difference when hundreds of people participate.
