Orphans in Need was set up to help the world's most vulnerable and needy people, regardless of faith, race or creed. Our main focus is on orphans and widows, often the weakest members of society and the most badly affected by the scourge of poverty. Join us and inspire some hope today.

Story

I recently took part in a 5k colour run on 12th May! However I'm using it as a goal to get better in order to help others in need. I don't care about how much pain it causes me (it really will as I suffer from fibromyalgia) it's worth it and I will do it even if I limp with my crutch.

I've been using crutches for the past 22 months and it's really made me realised how much we take for granted, how we forget certain things and forget to give back. I wanted to do a sponsored hike, bike ride or skydive but currently it seems I'm nowhere near that but hopefully one day! Why I am even, I wonder given my current health.

I managed to get off my crutches (mostly) toward the end of 2018 but I recently fell down the stairs TWICE which has put me back on constant crutches and it has been a real struggle. But all it's got me thinking is how much Orphans struggle on a daily basis just to get clean water, eat, find shelter and just exist and it really makes me realise how insignificant our issues in the bigger picture. Whilst our issues feel awful and are still hard, we should channel our negative feelings and give something to those suffering. You can help an orphan in need by donating today.

From a young age my Father always taught me to give to those in need and remember there are people in the world with no family, no Mother or Father. They have no shelter or even clean water, yet here we are running the tap whilst we brush our teeth and constantly wasting water. Sadly my Father passed away when I was 16 (May he be at peace, please say a prayer for him). Living without my dad has been a struggle, even though I'm blessed with other loving people. So just imagine the life of an Orphan in a third world country.

My father would encourage me so I'm doing this in his memory. Tomorrow isn't promised, so we need to do better now.  All alone, lost and struggling to survive. If you can spare anything to sponsor me and my 13 year old sister in what will actually be a huge struggle, we would dearly appreciate it. More than anything those Orphans and widows (the charity also helps them to cope and help in the orphanage with the children) will appreciate every penny.

Just think you spend most probably AT LEAST £10 on your phone bill, make-up maybe, fuel, water, food regularly, maybe daily/weekly/monthly so this little donation isn't going to make a big difference to your life but just £10 could feed 10 starving children or pay towards clean water forever which means your charity will live on even after your gone.

Regardless of whether you donate please do share this message and cause and help us raise as much as we can. If you could also say a prayer for my dad and grandads I would really appreciate it! May your life be full of blessings, good health and happiness!

Don't forget you can donate as little or as much as you like and if you're a tax payer you can tick the gift aid box which will increase your donation at no extra charge
