Story

YWAM Seamill is currently fundraising for the purchase of the lower gatehouse at 9B Glenbryde Road.

The Seamill Centre Story
Built in 1901, the Seamill Centre was first a convalescent home and then a teachers training college.  With 90 beds, 2 lecture rooms, 4 acres of garden, stunning views and a gate lodge split into two semi-detached properties, this beautiful seaside property was a miraculous provision of God to YWAM Scotland in 1994.  Through a faith process of prayer, hearing and obeying God, the negotiation process resulted a final purchase price of £100,000, a far cry from the initial asking price of £750,000!  What a wonderful testimony to the faithfulness of God and a miraculous start to the YWAM Seamill Missionary Training Centre!

Over the last 16 years, the Seamill Centre has been a gateway through which many have been discipled, received missionary training and been sent out to the field.  It has also been an oasis for missionaries coming through to rest and be refreshed.  Perhaps you yourself have been part of our story for a season, or have had Seamill been a part of yours.

The Gatehouse

Bought by a YWAM family to help with the initial mortgage taken to finance the purchase of the Seamill Centre, the lower half of the gatehouse has been a place of hospitality to many missionaries and guests and where much ministry has taken place.

16 years later this family is moving on, and it is time for the lower gatehouse to be reintegrated to the rest of the property.

YWAM Seamill is purchasing the lower half of the gatehouse for £200,000 with effect immediately.  As was the case 16 years ago when the YWAMers trusted God for the Seamill Centre, we in the YWAM community are now trusting God for the purchase of this place.  A mortgage obligation is immediately required to secure the property.  It is our hope and prayer to see the mortgage obligation satisfied quickly so that the property can be used for its intended purpose.  Its long-term purpose is to be developed as an intentional place of healing, refreshment and equipping for leaders and frontier workers.  In the meantime, it will serve as additional rented accommodation exclusively to YWAM missionary staff.

Would you write this next chapter of our story with us?  Would you consider walking with us through prayer and financial support as we embark on this faith adventure?
