Story

Hello everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. We all know the tangible benefits of a college education. The ability to earn a higher income, economic mobility, insurance benefits, a retirement plan. At a deeper level, college is where we map a path through life that can take us to places we never expected to go. When I graduated four years ago I had a powerful dream. My dream was to start a scholarship for future radiology students at Yavapai College. When I was a radiology student at Yavapai, I received three scholarships myself. The most generous was a full ride scholarship from the Jewish Community Foundation. The impact of these scholarships changed my life in such an overwhelmingly positive way. When I graduated I knew I wanted to give back. To help local X-Ray students in our community succeed in their education journey. I wanted to help them in the same way that the generous donors of the scholarships I received helped me. When I started my first Radiologic Technology Scholarship in 2017, I made a commitment to continue to grow the scholarship year after year. Last year’s scholarship was the largest ever by far, and it was only possible because of the generous donations from people like you. This year I have an even bigger ask. This year I’m starting an endowment scholarship, which means every dollar that is donated will continue to produce scholarships for  radiology students year after year, decade after decade. I’m starting this endowment scholarship fundraising campaign with a personal donation of $10,000. My goal is to raise another $30,000 in the next 30 days, bringing the total initial endowment fund to $40,000. This will make an enormous impact in the lives of the hardworking students who will receive these scholarships for years to come. The X-ray program at Yavapai College is rigorous and demanding. Not only are students committed to a full time college workload, they are required to complete over 2000 hours of unpaid clinical time, and are responsible for their travel expenses to and from clinical sites all over northern Arizona. I know this is an ambitious goal, but I also know how generous our community is. I have found that helping others is the most rewarding and fulfilling thing I’ve ever done in my life. We have the opportunity to change people’s lives in a profound way, by giving them the priceless gift of an education. I would love to have you be a part of this mission, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help and generosity. Thank you and God bless.
