I’m excited to share that I have been selected to be part of the 2023 GOLD project In Senegal. GOLD (Girlguiding Overseas Linked with Development) works in partnership with WAGGGS member organisations on sustainable projects that make a lasting differences in Guiding.

Girlguiding has been a big part of my life since I joined Brownies at the age of 7. My time in Guiding has allowed me to develop valuable leadership skills, grow in confidence and most importantly, make loads of amazing memories. I am excited to work together with the rest of my team and Guides du Senegal to support Guiding development in Senegal.

The aims of the project are:

1) To increase retention of current members and recruit new members

2) To develop a Young Leaders programme:

3) Develop a Peer Education programme

4) To develop confidence, leadership and decision making in girls to prepare them for leadership

This year GOLD Senegal we will be specifically focused on growth and retention following a dip in membership as a result of COVID.
