Story
Cycle2Zero is an epic cycling adventure, undertaken by m2m's committed supporters. The challenge usually takes place in one of the African countries where we work, but this year due to travel restrictions caused by COVID-19, for the first time ever, the cycle will be virtual and open to everyone! Together we will collectively pedal, run, hike, or swim 5,000km, and raise vital funds to support m2m's frontline health heroes - Mentor Mothers.
I already completed the "Anyango Challenge" by running more than 120 kilometers over the last four weeks. Now it is time for the next one: the "Harriet Challenge". Together with my team members, we will by covering 200 miles over the weekend of 23-25 October. The same distance as Mentor Mother Harriert Mutesi cycles each and every month in Uganda to provide vital health support to their clients.
Since m2m was founded in 2001 over 11 million women and children under the age of two have been reached with direct services, and over 11,000 jobs have been created for women living with HIV. Our dream is of a world where no mother dies of AIDS and no baby is born with HIV. We hope that Cycle2Zero@home can help not only turn the tide of COVID-19 in Africa but create healthy families free from HIV. Ending HIV is just the start.
