Story
This World Food Day, Oct 16th, we will be raising funds for Christadelphian Meal-A-Day UK.
Currently more than 2 billion people do not have regular access to sufficient safe and nutritious food. By 2050 the global population is expected to reach more than 10 billion, which will significantly increase the demand for food.
To raise money and awareness for those who are hungry, members of our MaD Committee and our Ambassadors will be participating in a fast and we would like to invite you to join us.
Some of us will miss one meal on October 16th and others will be fasting from “Dawn to Dusk” (7am to 7pm). (If you are up for the challenge of fasting for the whole day but Oct 16th isn't a convenient day for you, we suggest fasting from “Dawn to Dusk” one day at the weekend instead.)
The idea is to donate the money you saved by fasting or missing a meal to Meal-a-Day, who will then put that money towards feeding the many vulnerable children and adults we work with in Europe and Africa.
The average person in the UK spends £5.50 per day on food.
Meal-a-Day provides meals for the children in our projects at a typical cost of £0.14 per meal. This means by donating the £5.50 you normally spend on food, you could feed 39 children who are in desperate need.
Let us come together to meditate on our blessings, share our wealth with those who are less fortunate, and demonstrate the same love shown to us by our heavenly Father.
