WK Class of 2006

WK 2006 · 14 March 2017
Hello WK Class of 2006! Tanya, Pedro, Nozipho, Shaunee and I have been working to set up a fundraising campaign for WK. We have decided to help Mrs Tinney with a project called Welcome Packs. Welcome Packs are for those scholarship students that have absolutely nothing when they arrive at WK. These packs include bed linen, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary towels, etc. There have been very painful instances where it was assumed that students would bring their own, but for some that was impossible. They did not dare to mention it to anyone and went without these things for weeks until some else noticed.
We want to raise £3000, about $3750, for Mrs Tinney to be able to supply 25 of these packs next year. If we raise more than that, even better, as Mrs Tinney estimates she will need at least 50.
Here is where you all come in! Please give what ever you can, and as often as you can, to this page. If we all donate, not only will we be helping Mrs Tinney, but we will also be helping the future students of WK! Some of us were those students who arrived on scholarship and needed help from WK to cover some of “the basics.”
Donate here so we can track our progress. Or if you are in the USA or South Africa, you can donate to PayPal accounts in those countries, and we can add the total here. Or if you want to set up a regular monthly donation, you can on the main WST Just Giving page, or any of the PayPal accounts, and we can add that amount here. So many options, so it should be easy enough for all of us!
And remember, if you personally donate more than £90, $110, €100, or ZAR1500, you will qualify for a brick in the Alumni Ave!
Lets all show support and thanks to WK for bringing us together and helping to shape who we are today!
