Thank you for visiting Will's page.
On Thursday night Will was full of life, teaching his little Brother how to slide down the stairs. Early Friday morning Will vomited but quickly went back to sleep. He awoke Friday seemingly feeling a bit better. That day he played Lego ate some of his favourite foods and beat his Daddy at Pictionary.
Saturday morning, Will said he felt a bit 'spinny' and his head was a bit achy but there were no signs to indicate this was anything worse than a minor bug: No rash, only a slight temperature. Will said he could eat some plain chicken and Daddy went to the supermarket to buy the requested food. We thought we would spend the rest of the day relaxing at home while he got better.
Meanwhile 30 minutes later Mummy tried to wake Will to give him a drink, although he had a couple of sips he didn't come round properly.
Mummy and our neighbour rushed Will to hospital.
Immediately Will was taken to resuss but failed to react to tests, quickly they scanned his brain and found severe swelling of both the brain cells and the lining. The horrible, unforgiving image of Meningitis and Encephalitis.
The Consultant described this type of illness as like a child walking towards a cliff edge, but a cliff edge that you cannot see.
Will was in intensive care for hours not days, the relentless pace of the bacteria took his life like a thunderbolt.
Will died in our arms 1st March 2015
He will be in our hearts, souls and minds forever.
