About Whisper
Whisper is a small but very high impact charity that funds a children’s hospital and a maternity unit in Jinja, Uganda. The Whisper hospital is a happy, caring, child-friendly place providing high-quality healthcare directed by local needs. The hospital has a great reputation and some patients travel long distances to attend. The average cost in donated funds of treating a patient is around £22, an average that includes patients requiring lengthy inpatient stays. Whisper's hospital provides full medical cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and this allows many lives to be saved; we estimate that a life is saved that would not otherwise have been saved for every £294 in donated funds.
