Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Wetwheels Yorkshire 'Miles of Smiles' appeal 2020 JustGiving page.
In order to enable as many people as possible to access the sea in 2020 we have taken the decision to offer ALL our trips on a voluntary donation basis. As we emerge from the C-19 pandemic we recognise a need for isolated people, particularly those living with disabilities, to experience the safe, exciting experience of a Wetwheels Yorkshire trip. We hope you will support our work in achieving this.
In 2019, Wetwheels Yorkshire, the specially adapted, fully accessible power catamaran, enabled over 1700 people to access the sea off the North East coast. Our disabled participants and their families tell us that this experience is totally unique and incredibly valuable. Our participants are even able to access the helm and steer the boat from their wheelchairs through a remarkable set of bespoke technological solutions.
Our aim is to never deny a disabled person the opportunity to participate in a Wetwheels Yorkshire trip through lack of funds. The crew on board Wetwheels Yorkshire are all volunteers and all funds raised go directly to fund getting disabled people, and their families, onto the water.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
