Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This term Burnett are running community action week. Following the success of our Christmas tree competition last term we wanted to continue with our theme of supporting the homeless. We will be raising money for the Billu Chip charity who have come into school to deliver assemblies for all of our students.

What is BillyChip? Give them to rough sleepers and homeless people as an alternative to cash! They can redeem them in coffee shops and takeaways for food and drink – share a little kindness and compassion whilst also donating towards homeless charities! The BillyChip is a unique safe and secure platform which allows the public to directly donate to rough sleepers without the fear of their donation being miss used for drugs or alcohol. The recipient can redeem a BillyChip in coffee shops and takeaways for food and drink. Where they want when they want for what they want! Invented by Billy Abernethy-Hope a twenty year old ambulance driver from Bristol. Sadly Billy died before the scheme was launched by his family in his memory.

£2 will pay for a chip to be given to a homeless person

Our target of £300 would pay for a new outlet to be set up

Thank you for your genorosity and thank you to the students for their outstanding contribution to this event!

Money raised is to be donated to the Billy Chip Community Interest Company.

The B A Hope Foundation has been set up in memory of Billy Abernethy-Hope, a compassionate, fun and loving young man who sadly died at the age of Twenty. We hope to continue sharing Billy's love by supporting Charities who help those who don't have some of the basics we take for granted everyday Our mission is to financially support charities who share Billy's passion to improve the lives of the homeless. Through a variety of routes, we will receive money from those who want to help the homeless but don't necessarily know how. We will invite eligible charities to apply for grants which helps them support a very vulnerable part of our society.
