Story
Hello, my name is Brett Barratt, I am the Managing Director of a manufacturing business in Birmingham called Warrior Doors.
On the morning of April 21st, I received a text message from my daughter Esther, a Nurse on the respiratory ward (516) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) – the frontline in the battle against Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Birmingham.
From the story she spelled out in the text message, it is clear that QEHB's frontline workers are pulling out all the stops to battle COVID-19 and help care for patients the best they can.
In honour of my daughter and all other Nurses and frontline NHS staff, I would like to raise money to support the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity and the great work it does to support patients, families, and staff by providing those added extras –, radios, handheld DVD players, etc. – which can not be provided by the NHS for the QEHB.
Due to the nature of COVID-19, friends and family aren't easily or safely able to access their loved ones in the hospital, these added extras become that much more important for patient care and comfort.
Please join us all at Warrior Doors in donating for this worthy cause to support our frontline staff, and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity in this national time of need. The initial goal is £10,000. Let's see if we can beat that together.
