Thank you for viewing the Vyners School in Ickenham Just Giving Page for our 3 Peaks Challenge in June 2015. We are splitting funds raised between The Friends Of Vyners School (75%) and Asthma UK (25%). The focus of the school fundraising effort this year is to
purchase 50 new Chromebooks
for students to use in lessons for
collaborative and independent
research tasks. These Chromebooks
power up in less than eight seconds
as opposed to the ageing laptops
that can take up to ten minutes and
therefore lesson time is used much
more effectively. They also provide
an excellent platform for Google
Classroom which is a big push for the
school this year. We are also aiming
to replace computers in Art, Music
and Technology classrooms and
are currently exploring Apple Macs
alongside PCs.
Teachers, students, families and friends of Vyners School are looking to take on the 3 Peaks Challenge over the weekend of 27th to 29th June 2015 to raise funds for various school projects (supported by the PTA, Friends Of Vyners) and also Asthma UK. Sadly, a family has recently lost their oldest son to an acute asthma attack while he was away at University. His younger brother attends Vyners School. Since this happened, we have found out that 3 people a day die of asthma and research is funded by above charity. It does not get the support as much as some of the other national charities. In addition, another ex-Vyners student lost her life to Asthma just before Christmas so supporting this charity has been fully endorsed by all those connected to the school.
Anyone can join us on the challenge which could either be a 24 hour 3 Peaks walk, or something more gentle over the 3 days. We will be starting at Ben Nevis, moving straight on to Scafell Pike and finishing at Snowdon. To find out more visit the school website or e-mail us on 3Peaks@vyners.hillingdon.sch.uk
