Story
Virginia Swinhoe-Standen (née Gilmour)
12 April 1960 – 9 May 2009
Multiple Sclerosis affects around 100,000 people in the UK. There is no cure for it and much more research needs to be done. There is also a most important need to train nurses and healthcare services about MS, to train specialist MS physiotherapists, to educate and provide information and support for social services, for carers and for families.
Virginia was very gentle, kind and generous and she always looked for the best in people. She bore her illness with extraordinary courage, great humour, good grace, dignity and enormous spirit. We will cherish her memory always.
Please donate anything you can to the MS Society to help their important work.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain & Northern Ireland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
