Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So the chance has come up for me to finally do my bit for charity having spent many years being envious of all those I have sponsored doing their marathons, mountain climbing, races-for-life etc.
I am going to run the NYC Marathon on Nov 6. I am doing this to raise as much cash as possible to support the truly amazing work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. As a proud father of 4 healthy children I hope I am never in a situation where I need them and I can only imagine what those families are going through. Through my friend Edwin van der Sar (Ambassador Make-A-Wish foundation) I have experienced myself how a 7 year old boy, suffering from the terminal stages of a brain tumor, had the day of his life scoring a penalty kick against the greatest keeper ever!
Make-a-wish bring hope, happiness and kindness to many up and down the UK and Abroad whose lives need that extra lift to get through the challenges they are faced with. Me running the NYC Marathon can't even be classed as a challenge when compared to heartache, upset, strain faced by these families.
So all that's left is to say thank-you for any amount you are able to donate to support Make-A-Wish. No matter how small or how large your donation will be used to really help make a huge difference!
Cheers and MANY thanks, Victor.
All funds raised will be equally split between Make-A-Wish Foundation UK and Make-A-Wish (Stichting Doe een Wens) Netherlands.
