To mark the 10th anniversary of Varlink's foundation, we will be working together to raise funds over the next 12 months to support a local charity, St Leonard's Hospice, York, who's work in the community is highly valued.

It's our aim to get all employees engaged in our fundraising efforts with a range of activities already planned, from relay races at upcoming running events, to the Great Varlink bake off and much more to come.

St Leonard's Hospice provide specialist palliative care and support for local people with life threatening illnesses. They offer an in-patient unit, Day Care and Hospice@Home service. Not only this but their extends to support families and carers with a highly experienced team of doctors, nurses who specialise in a wide range of disciplines including complementary therapy, lymphoedema care, physiotherapy, social work, bereavement and occupational therapy.

Their care is free of charge but it is not free to provide - it costs £4.5m to run St Leonard's Hospice each year, that is the equivalent of £500 for just one hours care.
