Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2015 a triple challenge stands before me! The 26.2 miles of the London marathon is sandwiched between the Yorkshire half marathon and the fantastic Great North run! After saying on the finish line in Edinburgh, weary and exhausted that I would never run a marathon again here I am preparing for the greatest marathon on earth, with a half marathon either side for good measure! The reason I am foolishly putting on my running shoes again is to say a HUGE thank you to the Sick Children's Trust.
On the 21st July 2014 my niece Isabelle was born. Her short life has been a battle much greater than any marathon since that day. The Sick Children's Trust supported Danielle and Alex Isabelle's parents from that moment. They provided them with a "home from home" at Sheffield Children's hospital for the months they were to spend by their daughters side on the neonatal surgical intensive care unit.
Isabelle is now beginning to win her battle and thankfully is now allowed to go home. For the hundreds and thousands that have gone before and are unknowingly yet to follow however the Sick Children's Trust remain there supporting families through a tremendously challenging time.
Nothing can repay the debt of gratitude we all own to Sheffield Children's hospital and the Sick Children's Trust. Hopefully by making months of sacrifice in training and fundraising I can raise money to helps the Sick Children's Trust ensure that their work can go on for many more families like my own! The Sick Children's Trust believes that every family of a seriously ill child in hospital should be able to stay together, just minutes from their child's bed during their treatment. They aim to alleviate some of the emotional and financial strains at a very stressful time 365 days a year. They rely entirely on voluntary income to meet costs.
Of course I would say give generously............... but in this harsh reality I appreciate that money is precious and tight so any donations however small will be greatly appreciated.
