Story
We are John and Carol and we have been walking the London Underground overground for a while now.
We didn't originally set out with the intention of this being a 'sponsored walk' as we didn't want to be constrained by any deadlines. Starting in January 2014, after a Christmas present challenge, we were not able to walk every week, due to inclement weather, social engagements, injuries and work commitments, etc. However, when we plotted the routes after we had walked them, we realised what a personal achievement it was for both of us and an ideal opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause.
The rules are simple (although there are some minor complications). Essentially, we have to take one line at a time and walk from end to end - including branches and loops - calling at all the stations. The total distance covered will be approximately 360 miles. The end is finally in sight and we are currently approximately 35 miles from finishing, which we hope achieve in another 2-3 walks.
If you check out our website Underground
Overground you can see our routes plotted on a map, as a network and individually and view our captioned photos for the 10 lines we have already walked. Our final line, Piccadilly, will be updated as we go along.
Please help us to support Cancer Research by donating any amount you are able, no matter how small. There IS a cure for cancer, but it's not going to find itself. The people who have devoted their lives to searching for it need every penny of funding that they can get.
