Hi!
We're Ultraxine, a band based between Leeds and London (which means we're usually somewhere on the East Coast trainline with our guitars in the luggage rack...)
We had grand plans for last year, including a very big plan to record our second studio album, which we were going to launch in March 2015. Unfortunately life got in the way a bit, we had a really bad year and due to circumstances beyond our control we didn't get to record the album. We were beyond disappointed and ready to throw in the towel.
But when we sat and thought about it, we remembered that on the grand scale of things, our bad year was nothing in comparison the bad year that others around the world were having - people in places torn apart by war, people imprisoned just for daring to express their views or for having a sexuality that their governments disagreed with. People whom Amnesty International fight for, and on behalf of, every day.
We realised, that for us, "the walls still hold a tune", but for others...there was less to be glad about, and that we wanted to make something good come out of our bad year. And we still had the launch date gig for the album booked...
So this event was born, an acoustic charity fundraiser where we'll play alongside our very good friends Polly Phluid of the Idol Dead and Paul Miro. There will also be a Raffle of Rock, with items donated from all manner of wonderful musicians including The Dowling Poole, Givvi Flynn, Paul Miro, Eureka Machines, Ginger Wildheart, CJ Wildheart, The Idol Dead, The Blacklist Saints.
This page is here for anyone who feels inclined to spare a few coppers to add to our fundraising antics.
