Story
Thank you for visiting my just giving page.
I'm Tudur and I had the privilege of calling Gareth my brother. He was more than that he was my best friend. Last October our world was turned upside down when Gareth took his own life.
Gaz loved the water it was truly his happy place and it feels fitting to cross the Irish sea; a patch of water Gareth spent so much time sailing, wakeboarding, kite surfing and paddle boarding on.
Gareth had a large circle of friend and he was described as the glue that kept us all together. This challenge will also help us be there for one another as we train, prepare and overcome the challenges to turn this feat into a reality.
We are determined to honour Gaz' bright and adventurous spirit and create a legacy to support people with mental health problems.
A group of 20 of us are now training hard to complete a huge challenge - rowing 120 miles from Holyhead to Dublin (and back again) this Summer. We'll be tackling the potentially treacherous open waters with a goal to complete the journey in under 35 hours.
We needed a challenge big enough to uphold and celebrate the life and memory of our friend.
Mental illness does not discriminate. It affects people of all ages, from all walks of life. With this in mind, we want to raise important funds and awareness for an amazing mental health charity in Wales called the DPJ Foundation.
The charity provides vital mental health support and training to those in agricultural and rural communities
