Sarah Shipley is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young

Hello everybody!
Glad you found this page! The four of us are doing a 50 mile hike along the Derwent Valley Way and we thought we’d try and raise as much money as possible for an amazing charity called CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young - www.c-r-y.org.uk ) who were founded to raise awareness of sudden cardiac deaths and also to provide medical information for the many different causes of cardiac arrest in young people.
We’ve called this event ‘Trek for Tom’ because as I’m sure a lot of you will know, a close friend of mine, Tom Reid passed away recently due to an ‘undetectable’ underlying heart condition. So we are doing this walk in memory of Tom, to raise awareness of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) and to try and raise as much money for CRY as we can. Tom’s parents have set up a fundraising and memorial page for Tom and their target is to raise £10,000 for the charity!! So any money we raise will go towards this amount and will hopefully help them reach their target! ‘Trek for Tom’ will be happening from the 6th – 9th April (tents, trangias, supernoodles – the lot!) and we would all love it if we had your support! No matter what amount, every penny counts =)
