We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

In the early months of 2013, I aim to break the World Record of 40 days and 10 hours for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean solo and completely unassisted in a rowing boat.

The Atlantic crossing is something I have already completed back in 2010, however another crossing lends itself as another perfect opportunity to continue raising money for charity as well as the chance to break the record.

Through our fundraising efforts, I will strive to complete a significant number of talks and presentations to children, teaching them to grasp every opportunity they can or at least try something completely new. More importantly, I will make sure I share my experiences with those children in the Hospital itself who may not ever have the chance to do something similar in life.

Whether it is teaching childen about the animals I saw, the equipment I used, the weather, dealing with being alone or appreciating the support I received, it is something I hope I can get across in some form or another.

Not only do Great Ormond Street help a huge amount of young people in our country return to health and wellbeing, but they help childen all over the world. Our efforts will go far!

The TransAtlanticSolo team and myself, aim to raise atleast £100,000 for our chosen charities. Please support this fantastic cause and help make a difference.
