Hi All,
Due to the success of our first charity quiz night (€3,600 raised for Barnardos), we have decided to organise a round two of our Towercom Charity Quiz Night on Thursday 4th June at 9pm! It will be hosted by Patrick Ahern and Colm Lougheed via YouTube Live Stream.
Instead of entry fees, the Towercom Team have decided to raise money in support of The Peter McVerry Trust - it is great organisation that could really use our help at this difficult time.
The Peter McVerry Trust are an amazing national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. In the current crisis, they have put some additional resources in place for our participants during Covid-19:
Why support Peter McVerry Trust’s emergency response?
- Peter McVerry Trust are a national housing and homelessness charity
- Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, they have sourced 110 apartments and 100 hotel rooms for isolation, cocooning, and people who test positive for COVID-19
- As the country’s largest provider of Housing First, Peter McVerry Trust provides homes and specialised support services for individuals experiencing long-term homelessness, who have been rough sleeping and are usually experiencing acute or complex health conditions as a result.
- Since the first restrictions came into effect in mid-March, the charity have given 26 individuals each the key to their own door
- Support during this pandemic is vital to ensuring Peter McVerry Trust can keep services open, stay available and continue to protect some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
