Story
To celebrate the seventh annual Nabarro cycle challenge, Nabarro's finest athletes are climbing aboard their trusted carbon (or aluminium, steel or titanium) steeds to take in the historic sites of the European Union in aid of Place2Be and Breast Cancer Care. The peloton will head out from the London office on Friday 9 September 2016 on a three day trip travelling through the current home of the European Union in Brussels and on to the origin of the Treaty on European Union - Maastricht in the Netherlands.
Following previous routes from Sheffield to London, London to Brussels, London to Paris, London to Düsseldorf, Sheffield to Amsterdam and last year's trip from London to Manchester and on to Sheffield, the route this year will see the 23 strong cycling team take on the following:
- Day 1: London to Harwich (130 kms)
- Day 2: Hook of Holland to Brussels (180 kms)
- Day 3: Brussels to Maastricht (115 kms)
Members of the team will be:
Cyclists: Andrew McLean, Chris Chambers, Chris Horsefield, Claire Mulcrone, Ezra Smith, Iain Newman, Irfaan Khaliq, Jack Shepherd, James Snape, Laurence Isaac, Linda Crookes, Mike Friend, Natalie Gomez, Nick Wood, Richard Brown, Rob Whiddett, Sam Newsome, Sarah Etherington, Scarlett Du Tillieul McNicol, Shafeek Mohamed, Steve Caballero, Tim Dobbing and Tracey Shaw.
Support crew: Amar Unadkat, Catrin Evans, George Mole, Lauren Green, Maria Fernandes and Tim Sales.
All money raised by the Nabarro team will be going to Place2Be and Breast Cancer Care, the costs of the trip being covered by Nabarro and the cyclists themselves. As always, every little helps.
