We provide services and support to people with mental health problems

Story

There is a mental health crisis in our society and we want to help...

In our village of just 300 homes, there have been 4 adolescent suicides in the last few years. The Mortgages Company (Tapper Financial Services) also has close family members who have been affected by serious mental health issues.

Did you know:

-  20% of adolescents may experience a mental health problem in any given year
-  50% of mental health problems are already established by the age of 14
-  Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50.

Project 2022  aims to support young people, so that mental health issues can be dealt with before they become deep rooted.   We want to raise £2022 by 2022 for Mid and North East Essex Mind*. The money raised will specifically help young people under 18 in NE Essex.   Funds raised will be used for extra training courses for Educational Mental Health Practitioners, who are working with young people at the Colchester Institute and Colchester Sixth Form College, as well as some primary and secondary schools.

You can help us by recommending our business to friends and family.

The Mortgages Company currently pledges to give £10 for every new client who takes either a mortgage or an insurance policy with us, and who quotes the reference PROJECT 2022. (Once the Covid crisis is over we hope to increase this amount).

You can watch our progress on this page or if you would like to donate anyway, there's a donate button at the top!

Our young people are not supposed to die before us, let alone take their own lives. Please help us to help them. Thanks again!

*Mid and North East Essex Mind helps to support and empower people experiencing an emotional or mental health condition by building on their personal hopes and aspirations. We work with children, young people and adults across the area. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone.
