Story
Our family has a passion for aviation that has been passed down through the generations since 1940. Five of us have served in the RAF; two armourers, an engineer officer, a policeman and a university student.
Pooley's host the Dawn to Dusk competition every year, with the challenge to undertake a days flying with an "original and praiseworthy objective".
When considering our Dawn to Dusk entry we thought it would be both challenging and of personal interest to return to each military base a member of the Parton family has served at over the past 81 years: 4 generations, 28 stations, 1 day! (overseas bases excluded for obvious timing reasons!)
Following the loss of Gerald Parton (2nd generation to serve) last year due to COVID, we are hoping to use this challenge to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund - to help protect the future of the RAF family, as they’ve inspired ours.
