Story
The purpose of this project is to bring us together virtually when we might feel isolated. We aim to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at the supermarket, coffee shop, on the train or at the gym. Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now.
We enjoy capturing images of families in times of joy. Those moments of joy are still happening in homes right now. We know it. But we can’t be there to capture them.
We aim to bring people together in the community by documenting this time by taking five-minute “Front Steps Portraits” of Kilmarnock residents. Each day on our daily walk we will scurry around and snap super fast images of local families on their front steps. In exchange for the professional image, we ask you, our neighbours to donate to our chosen charity Hansel.
We will be posting these images on Facebook (@PicturuPhotography) and Instagram (@PicturuPhotography) using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject.
Thank you in advance for your donations.
