Sponsored Humber Bridge Walk 2019

October is Baby Loss Awareness month, GBS Prenatal onset prevention month and also marks the 4th birthday of our beautiful daughter Faith who was born sleeping. Sounds like a good time to host a fundraising event!
To mark the 4th birthday of Faith we are doing a sponsored Humber Bridge Walk. The Humber Bridge is 2.2km each way, with a 1,6,9 and 12 year old, plus a husband who is scared of heights it's both enjoyable and a little unnerving!
On 23rd October 2015 our 4th child, Faith, was stillborn full term plus 9 days. It was only when we received all the results back following Faiths death that I found out I had Group B Strep. I will be treated for GBS in future pregnancies, but have had to wait for my baby to die to find out I even had it!!! I am now passionate about raising awareness of GBS
Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both.Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep International informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.
