Story
THE ANIMAL SAVERS
We are a group of children (Ezra, Shiloh, Lucy, Seb & Blue) aged 7-11 and Blue the dog aged 14 months. We are all passionate about saving animals. SInce we wanted to learn more about animals our teacher Georgia has been bringing her dog Blue to our sessions since last year and we have learnt so much from having her around. Blue is a rescue dog who was saved by Street Hearts Bulgaria and was adopted by Georgia through Wild at Heart Foundation. We wanted to find ways to help all the other rescues around the world!
Last term Blue inspired us to write books about dog training and other things and we realised we could sell these to raise money for Wild at Heart Foundation. One day Shiloh found some scrap material and plaited it together to make a tug for Blue to play with, she loved it! We thought these would be good to sell to other dog owners and a way to recycle old fabric that would otherwise be thrown away. Blue, Seb and Lucy decided to paint canvasses of their original artwork which people could buy. All of this gave us the idea of setting up a fundraising shop full of handmade items that people could buy to help us reach our fundraising target to support Wild at Heart Foundation.
We have also decided to offer bespoke, personalised gifts that can be customised with your pets name, from pet portraits to embroidered key-rings and engraved wooden ornaments. You can email us with your requests theanimalsavers@outlook.com, we check our emails every Tuesday!
Ezra has been working hard setting up our JustGiving page and shop. She has been reading about how Wild at Heart use the donations to support rescue dogs around the world. Here is more information about how your money could help:
- £14 can vaccinate a puppy in Lebanon
- £17 can get a puppy's food for a month in Greece
- £20 can get a dog a collar and lead in South Korea
- £30 can help a dog with mange in Romania
- £35 can get a bed for a dog in Mexico
- £40 can neuter a dog in Africa
Wild at Heart Foundation believes that a dog can lift our mood, change our day, keep us active and transform a house into a home. They are our fierce protectors, our best friends, our support, structure, strength and solace. They offer freely what humans can spend lifetime learning, which is to love unconditionally. They save our lives in many ways. This is why we are committed to ending the suffering of these amazing creatures. We do this by organising rescue projects, neutering programmes and education initiatives.
