We use music, clowning, magic and dance to give the gift of laughter to lonely kids

Story

This is a charity that Sarah has supported for the past six years. The Seagulls work across the globe to support child refugees, most recently in some of the more horrific camps in Europe. Their ethos is that every child deserves a childhood and happiness matters. In the summer, much of their fundraising takes place on the UK festival circuit where the volunteers work tirelessly providing children’s activities and entertainment.

On a personal note, Sarah’s son had a difficult time at school with the pressure of SATs. He became very anxious, tearful and withdrawn. Just three helping the Seagulls at a festival filled him up with so much joy and confidence – completely transforming his mental health through the power of play. She continues to help with fundraising events and supports their ongoing projects. For a small charity, every pound makes a difference.

About the charity

We believe that it is everyone’s right to put aside the cares of life and smile for a while. We work with marginalised groups to bring smiles and laughter, whether as Clown Doctors for children undergoing difficult medical treatments or through arts, music and crafts workshops and shows.
