You may recall that last year, The Four Musketeers undertook the challenge of walking 20 miles around Lake Ullswater in memory of Julie's wonderful friend, PC Gavin Smith, who sadly passed away in February of 2017. Your support helped us to donate a whopping £1,000 to Butterwick Hospice Care, a charity who have been an incredible support to Gav's family, wife Kezi and daughter Tilly.
This year we have raised the steaks and are planning to walk 40 miles of the Hadrian's Wall, which is around half of the full route. That's two full days of walking - double our efforts of last year, and no doubt double the blisters! We're also adding to our group the lovely Kezi who is joining us for blisters and Val (Julie's Mum) who is also threatening to take part!
We will be setting off on Saturday 13th, finishing up early evening on Sunday 14th July and we'd love you to show your support by donating to the charity we have chosen this year which is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Our plan is to try and take part in a fundraiser once a year in memory of Gav, so no matter how small the donation is it will help us to pay tribute to a wonderful guy, whilst raising all important funds for a worthy cause. Your support is so much appreciated!
