Almost 2 years ago Gareth had a major motorbike accident whilst racing at a track in Wales, breaking his pelvis, leg (tib & fib) and arm.
3 charities were instrumental in this accident not being as devastating as it could have been :
Welsh Air Ambulance who came to the remote race track on the coastline to take him to Royal Stoke University Hospital
Critical Care unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital who we fantasic in caring for him prior and following his major surgeries
MS Therapy Centre Wolverhampton - a charity funded centre that offers Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (a treatment that increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. An increase in blood oxygen temporarily restores normal levels of blood gases and tissue function to promote healing and fight infection)
Whilst recovering Gareth set himself the target of completing the 3 Peaks Challenge with a view of raising money for these amazing charities, and the time has now come for the challenge to be completed. We're aiming to walk the 3 Peaks the first weekend in June (1st and 2nd), hoping to complete in 24 hours with a team of 4 of us.
