Friends and colleagues, on the 30th July I will be undertaking the Swiss Alpine Trail Race (78K), in "old money" thats about 48 miles give or take...as my training has progressed these past few months a number of people asked if I was doing the event for charity and after some reflection I thought I should.
I am aware that all of you give so generously to a whole range of charities throughout the year, therefore I am honoured and grateful that you have taken time to visit this page and make a donation to the causes I am supporting.
Each and every day on television we see the terrible effects that war and conflict can have on people and nations, injuries that are both seen and unseen; and at times there is the requirement to send soldiers to intervene or provide humanitarian assistance in these conflict zones, circumstances that most people would not wish to find themselves in, it is for this reason I have chosen to support the work of Unicef and 2 military charities that I have an affinity to.
Any donation large or small will go some way to making a difference and more importantly raise awareness. If I could ask that this money is donated through "gift aid" that also makes a huge difference to the total.
