Run For Research has been set up with the aim of raising £10,000 for Cancer Research UK. I have set this up as I have been through cancer and know many others that have. Cancer has no boundaries and can affect anyone. Running was one of the main activities that kept me focused through treatment and ultimately got me fit and active again. So what better way to raise funds for Cancer Research UK than to run.
Uniting runners that have a common cause of wanting to beat cancer sooner is what this project is about. We want to get as many people running for research. We are inviting runners from all walks of life to join. Runners can be new or experienced, take part in one-off events or as many as you like, any distance, any date, any time. You can run solo or as a group. It's down to each runner or group to choose your own fundraising target.
At the end of 2018 there will be prizes for the most amount raised, the best fancy dress, the longest distance, the best running newcomer, the biggest group of runners.
