We are a group of students and staff from the department of Architecture & Built Environment at the University of Nottingham. We've joined together to raise money to build a nursery school in the rural village of Lephepane, Limpopo, South Africa. It is one of the poorest, least developed parts of the country, with high levels of unemployment.
Our target for the project is to raise £38,000.
Your donation will help provide a bright, clean and safe environment for teaching basic skills, play and music to village children. It will also provide employment for the local women who teach in the nursery school, cook meals, wipe noses and sing and play with the kids.
We pride ourselves on spending as much of our fundraising locally in the communities around the villages we build in - we have no big salaries or expensive offices to fund. The money raised will be spent on materials, tools, subcontracted works and project logistics associated with daily transport to the site. Students pay for their own flights and accommodation.
