The three charities we've chosen to raise money for are: Alzheimer's Research UK, Macmillan Cancer and the Cystic Fibrosis trust. You can choose to donate to any of them by clicking on our individual pages below.
The plan is to sea kayak 1600 miles, from Dover, UK to Helsinki, Finland. We will be following the coast, starting in Dover in July 2012, and crossing the British Channel to France. We will then follow up the European Coast, along the side of the North Sea, before taking the Kiel Canal through Germany. We will then follow along the coast of Denmark and Sweden, before finally arriving in Finland in (hopefully!) early September!
We estimate the total expedition will take two months, and covers a distance equivalent to 57 marathons. This is a huge undertaking, and we will be starting training as soon as 2012 begins. We have the University of Warwick Canoe Club to thank for both motivation, and providing equipment for us to use.
We hope to be carrying a waterproof GPS unit with us, so you can track our progress on this journey as we progress. This should be updated below when we begin the trip.fundraising page.
