Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are Exeter University students and we've joined together to climb the highest free standing mountain in the WORLD in August 2012, Kilimanjaro. In aid of Dig Deep charity. Each of us aims to raise £2500. Half of this will cover the cost of our trip and the other half will go directly to Dig Deep for a water project in Kenya. You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
Dig Deep Overview:
Since we were founded in 2007 Dig Deep has provided 20,000 people with a clean, sustainable water supply and has provided the schools of 3 communities with renewable cooking gas supplies. We have achieved this by creating a network of motivated student and graduate volunteers who both fundraise in the UK and travel to Kenya to manage our projects in order to make sustainable development a reality for rural communities in Kenya.
At the same time, we have cultivated our relationships with community leaders in Kenya – most notably Agnes Paryio (UN person of the year 2005). This allows us to draw on their wealth of local knowledge to ensure that our projects always benefit those in greatest need. We also use their connection with local communities to communicate effectively with local people and ensure that our projects empower communities that genuinely wish to work in partnership with us, thereby guaranteeing community responsibility and contribution.
