Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
This year either my husband Chris or my youngest brother Ben, along with James (my middle brother) will be running the Great North Run for charity.
The reason for the "either" bit is that I'm currently heavily pregnant with twins and would quite like Chris to be present at the birth, which might not be possible if he is half way to South Shields! So later this week, we will make a decision on who will be running and Chris is very luck to have a fantastic understudy ready to step in to his trainers!
This year we've chosen to support two charities close to our hearts.
Tiny Lives is a charity looking after premature babies and their famillies at the RVI hospital in Newcastle. Sadly, last year we lost our twin sons Oliver and Matthew after they were born over 15 weeks prematurely. Oliver passed away after surgery at the RVI and the team there have looked after us brilliantly, both after losing the boys and during this pregnancy too.
Bowel Cancer research is important to us as the disease has affected several people in Chris' family including his Mum, Viv. She has made a brilliant recovery but we would like to help fund research in this area, to help increase the understanding of the disease and the development of effective treatments and prevention.
