We are an independent team of three who aim to climb Ama Dablam (6,856m) from the Southwest Ridge: unsupported, in Alpine style; acclimatising by climbing Imja Tse (6,189m) in November 2014.
In preparation for the trip we are planning on ascents of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and the Eiger.
Ama Dablam is known as one of the most impressive mountains in the world, for beauty, aesthetics and the pure exposure encountered high on the flanks. It's common to encounter high altitude Everest veterans having problems with the technical difficulties encountered on the crux pitches of this climb.
Imja Tse, better known as Island Peak, is a mountain in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal. The peak is actually an extension of the ridge coming down off the south end of Lhotse and Everest.
We are aiming to raise £6,856 (£1 for every meter) for charity: Help for Heroes and The Cumbria Legacy Group.
