In November 2014, three staff members from Regenda are heading for ‘the roof of the world’ to help the homeless as part of the ‘Nepal Community Challenge’, a sponsored event in aid of Homeless International.
During the trip, marketing manager Melanie Parr, communications officer Samantha Neville and customer service advisor Jess Woodcock will work on community projects, helping locals to build homes and provide clean water and sanitation, before heading off on a five day mountain trek.
Regenda has made a donation towards the cost of the trip from a staff memorial fund, but Melanie, Samantha and Jess still have to raise at least £1,500 in sponsorship.
In an attempt to reach (and hopefully beat) their target, they will be holding a number of fundraising activities at work, as well as individually hosting events and activities for friends and families.
Nepal, which lies between India and China, is one of the poorest countries in the world. The UN estimates that about 40 per cent of its population live in poverty and around 60 per cent live in slums.
