The entire team at PureGym, the UK’s largest gym operator, is coming together to take on a nationwide relay. The focus of the effort is to raise awareness of the role that physical activity and fitness can play in helping people secure mental wellbeing and good mental health. The team will be raising funds for Mental Health UK - one of the UK’s largest and most respected charities.
It is going to be a week to remember with over 1,500 PureGym team members running, walking and cycling their way through a 7-day, 24-hour non-stop challenge. They will travel from Aberdeen to Plymouth by way of over 240 gyms coming together across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England.
Alongside the mammoth physical challenge, PureGym will raise at least £250,000 for Mental Health UK. Providing funding to extend the reach of practical advice and information to help people across the UK manage their mental health. Physical and mental health go hand-in-hand. We know that exercise and healthy eating have a positive impact on your body, but the same approach also helps to improve mental wellbeing. Poor mental health can be prevented through regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
PureGym will cover all the costs associated with the event so every penny raised for charity will go to the purpose for which it is intended.
