Murphy staff are tackling some of the tallest mountains of the British Isles, all to aid the charitable work for Unique Kidz & Co.
The National Three Peaks Challenge
On August 9th, 14 of us will be leaving our regional office in Golborne ready to take on the tallest points in Scotland, England and Wales. The challenge to scale the highest mountains in three countries is tough enough but we’re making it that bit tougher by attempting to complete it within 24 hours.
We’ll climb each peak in turn, driving from the foot of one mountain to the next with the clock chasing us, starting at the foot of Ben Nevis and finishing at the base of Snowdon.
Ben Nevis – Scotland (1344m)
Scafell Pike – England (978m)
Snowdon – Wales (1085m)
A total of almost 26 miles (that’s a marathon!) and an ascent of 9,800 feet
Unique Kidz & Co
We’re taking on this challenge to support a fantastic charity, Unique Kidz & Co. This is a very special group of people who provide specialist services for disabled children and their families in the area of north Lancashire and south Cumbria. From social activities for the children to respite for the families, they make a huge difference and being a local independent charity, set up by 2 mums with disabled children, they depend on fundraising and donations to keep operating.
During these few coming months each of us will be covering many miles in training and hope to raise a good few pounds in sponsorship. So this is where we turn to you and kindly ask that you spare whatever you can to support the work of Unique Kidz & Co.
