The Haileybury Royal Parks Half Marathon 2013 Team

Every house at Haileybury has put forward one person to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 6th this year. With the support of their respective houses, they are aiming to raise as much money for HYT as they can!

Each runner, as you will see below, has an individual page that doubles as their House fundraising page... you can also see on this page how much they have raised together.

For those of you who don't know HYT, we are based in Jinja, Uganda. We support sustainable development in Uganda by using environmentally friendly technologies. British volunteers & Ugandans work together improving lives, providing employment opportunity by constructing water tanks & low cost buildings & training young Africans in useful, practical skills.

What HYT provides is a hand-up.  In partnership with each ‘One Village’ community, and working with our trainee builders and our senior trainers, HYT undertakes an environmentally-friendly programme of building and refurbishment of schools and other buildings that enhances health, sanitation and educational provision.

 

Haileybury students follow our work in Uganda, regularly hearing updates in Lists and in Hearts & Wings, and some even come and spend 6 months with us after their A-levels. Many have been on school trips, and many more will be visiting our work at the end of the year.

So please please dig deep, and support the wonderful effort of all the runners and help them beat their targets. The houses are competing against eachother to raise the most...let the challenge begin!
