On Sunday 9th October 2016 in Central London I am hoping that 50 of us will run to raise £50,000 for UNICEF. The race is the Royal Parks Half Marathon: it is a wonderful route that takes in Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, the Palace of Westminster, the Embankment, The Mall and many other lovely sites (www.royalparkshalf.com). This is a great opportunity to do something different in life. Not only that, but UNICEF is a wonderful charity that does fantastic work all round the world supporting children in crisis and reminding us all that the voice of the child should be heard.
After the Concord community raised £70,000 over the last two years, UNICEF UK has very kindly agreed to give 50 places to a Concord ‘team’ this year. I am therefore appealing to 50 of you to commit to this great event and be part of a Concord team that is aiming to make a difference to the lives of young people. (If you were wondering what the other (50) is: I am 50 this year…)
