From November 25 – 27, 2016, riders from Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA) will take on their 7th charity ride to benefit Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC). Over three days, 30 brave cyclists will take on an epic 300km journey through the stunning landscapes of central Vietnam to raise tens of thousands of dollars to support SCC’s work to help disadvantaged children in Vietnam.
The adventure begins in central Vietnam’s city of Dong Hoi, near the newly discovered Phong Nha river cave system. Next the team will follow the Ho Chi Minh Trail past the DMZ before pedaling along the picturesque Tam Giang lagoon. At the end of their journey, the CCA riders will come to a triumphant finale in Hue, Vietnam’s imperial capital.
As part of their commitment, each CCA rider pays a registration fee, which covers all the ride’s costs. Each rider also commits to raise at least $600 from their family and friends, which will go directly to Saigon Children’s Charity and their work to assist impoverished children in Vietnam.
In 2015, CCA raised over $55,000. In total, over six years, CCA riders have raised over $250,000 to support Saigon Children’s Charity. Funds from CCA have made a huge impact in the work SCC does in Vietnam.
SCC currently supports over 2,000 disadvantaged children with scholarships every year, provides vocational and life skills training to help youngsters secure employment, builds schools in remote rural areas, and supports organisations which help children with disabilities.
