Story

First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to Read Noah's Story.

A number of years ago we were able to raise £10,000 for the PICU in the royal Belfast hospital for sick children, this time I would love to achieve the target of £20,000 all for the paediatric intensive care unit in the Belfast royal children's hospital plus The Paul Ward.

Noah's Story

Noah was born on the 28th April 2016 at the Royal Hospital Belfast. From his 21 week scan we knew we would have a lot of changes and challenges to our lives as it was confirmed Noah would be born with Hydrocephalus and Dandy Walker Malformation. It is any parents worst nightmare to hear their child will be born with a disability that is life threatening. So many things I took for granted and one of them being that my child will live a normal, healthy life. So much has changed from that day to now. Although the challenges are there for Noah , the joy and purpose Noah has given so many  outweigh those challenges.

Noah has undergone so many major surgeries, 6 being to insert a shunt which had either failed or became infected. Noah has spent months in the Intensive care unit at the Royal, in and out of hospital and endures countless seizures everyday, yet he continues to smile. Noah has also had his Shunt externalised during a spell in intensive care which required 24hr care.

Noah has grown and with that comes new challenges for him to navigate through. He is such a strong boy and raising this money to help others is solely down to Noah and his will to push through every obstacle set in his way.

Noah turned 8 in April and everyday I get to spend with this amazing little man, the more I learn and appreciate. He is so loved and even as I type this I'm filled with Joy just thinking about Him. That is the impact Noah has on everyone he meets. So many times we witnessed our Son have a seizure that I thought this might be it, that my Son was slipping away but Noah constantly finds the strength to push through. He just amazes me everyday and I'm so thankful I get to have him as My Son.

This charity Means a lot to me and that's why I want to raise Vital Funds. To help other parents and children who are facing  similar challenges. If we didn't have The ICU in Belfast then I have no doubt Noah would not be here today, telling his story and inspiring family, friends and Doctors at his ability to brighten up the worst of days.

I’ve been able to run marathons, half marathons and Ultra Marathon  and a 100 mile/24hr run along with Friends and Family.( 86 miles Covered until an injury hit) I plan to hold fundraising days, charity football matches, street collections and a lot more in order to raise this amount.

I now plan to run the Norn Iron 100 this June in an attempt to raise closer to the target.

Noah has conquered everything that has been thrown his way. He continues to inspire so many people, to step out of their comfort zone and do amazing things for so many Children. The ICU in Belfast has given Noah the chance to grow up beside His three Brothers, Jamie, Lucas and Benn. When you see Noah's smile, you realise and see how this little Boy has grabbed the hearts of so many.

Thank you for taking the time to read Noah's story.
