06/05/14 - All the lads ready for the off at Chesterfield Train Station - Marcus is on his way down with Keith Davies who has kindly offered to get the bikes to us in London. We are all excited and raring to go - and just to keep repeating ourselves the biggest thank you for everyone's support - we will keep you updated with our progress.
From the Team Megan lads
Not long now folks just 8 days and were off to London's Crystal Palace to the starting point of our challenge! All the lads have been training hard and I look forward to sharing the moment with every one of you.
We would all like to say a few big thank yous to the following:
- Every person that has taken the time to donate – without you our cause would not have reached the overwhelming heights that it has.
- Sellors Jewellers and all that arranged and took part in the Diamond Dip event in Matlock on 19th April 2019
- Stuart Rudkin and Darley Dale Cricket Club for Friday night’s race night raising nearly £500.
- Tracy and all that took part in the Sponsored Spin at the Arc on Sunday 27th April.
- The bands that played on band night which not only raised a lot of money but gave everyone a great night in the process.
We are having one last push before the big event and hope to see you on Saturday 3rd May at Sainsbury's Matlock as we will be shaking the buckets for one last time.
Can I take this opportunity to thank all the cyclists and their families for the massive efforts in this campaign and to all that have supported us throughout.
The donations have far exceeded my expectations and touches both Julie’s and my hearts to think that we have such fantastic friends and families.
Thank
you all so very much. - Philip

WE APPRECIATE THIS IS A DIFFICULT FINANCIAL TIME FOR MOST PEOPLE AND ARE GRATEFUL FOR ANY DONATION NOT MATTER HOW LARGE OR SMALL
We are Philip Maycock, Marcus Smith, David Watts, Nick Jenkins, Andrew Hodkin, Pete Denton, Jake Hodkin and Martin Bonsall “Team Megan”, who have come together to raise money for Arthritis Research UK.
In October 2012 Philip’s daughter Megan was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis at the tender age of 9. Megan is now 10 and a half years old and her condition is controlled by twice weekly injections, and she now continues to be pain and symptom free due to the treatment Megan receives from Sheffield Hospital and Arthritis Research UK.
The help and support Megan, and our family and friends has received from rheumatology team at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital has been outstanding and this has really opened our eyes to the number of children and adults suffering from this condition.
Therefore please donate as generously as you can to help support this amazing charity where their work is essential in assisting ALL people young and old cope with the difficult diagnosis of Arthritis.
Until we had to cope with this situation with Megan our eyes were totally closed to all the suffering that young and old have to endure.
When something happens to your own child where you have to depend on some sort of charity to constantly research terrible illnesses and when you are having to rely on staff from hospitals to help the patients and whole family to cope and adjust to life changing circumstances it really brings home how many children and elderly are suffering and relying on your donations.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP – THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE EVEN FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ OUR PAGE
