Story
As most of you know Mum lost her battle to cancer in 2010 and spent her last months in the Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow. The support they gave Mum and to all of us was outstanding and we couldn't have got through it without the care of the wonderful staff in the hospice. Mum referred to the nurses as 'her Angels' which they certainly were.
Raising money for this amazing charity is our small way of thanking them for everything they did for us and continue to do for all the other patients and families who they support every day. It is a charity that for many reasons is very close to our hearts
2012-2016 saw us raise an amazing £4,493 through events like the Etape Pennines, Etape Caledonia, Whole Hog Run and Ice Bucket Challenges! The support you have given us has been amazing to raise this amount and we are looking to raise some more in 2017.
I cycled the Etape Caledonia in May 2017 which is an 81 mile cycle, including a wee cycle up Schiehallion! 81 miles is about the same distance from the Scottish border up to Bishopbrigggs via the M74!!!
For the past few years we have also been coming up with Marie Curie France Holiday challenges to try and raise a few more viral funds while having fun on holiday!
2018 - This year’s French Summer holiday Marie curie challenge is ...
The 6 Hedley/Briggs’ have pledged to complete the equivalent distance of 20 marathons- 524 miles in 2 weeks.
This will mostly be done on 2 wheels, but will include walking, running and canoeing!!
Between us all (7 years to 69 years!) we have already completed near 13 Marathons- 337 miles!!!
We do this every year to raise money for a charity that is extremely important to us. If you want to get involved and help us raise some cash, please donate.
Thank you for your support for such a wonderful charity.
